The Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital Deccan Gymkhana organised a special health screening camp for senior Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, head of departments and senior police officials yesterday.

This comes after the resounding success of health screening camp organised with PMC for the citizens of Pune in April. The camp, organised at  the Sahyadri Hospital Deccan, was inaugurated at the hands of PMC Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao in the presence of PMC Additional Municipal Commissioner Sheetal Teli Ugale, Additional Municipal Commisioner Rajendra Nimbalkar, PMC Assistant Medical Officer of Health Dr Anjali Sabne  and Sahyadri Group of Hospitals Chairman Dr. Charudutt Apte.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Rao said that most of the times people show negligence towards going for routine check-ups until they see any symptoms or fall ill.

“With a recent personal medical experience I also realised that a regular health check-up is key to good health,” he said.

“It is mandatory for IAS and IPS officers above the age of 40 to undergo routine medical check-ups without fail since the lifestyle of these officers are very hectic and they find no time to pay attention towards themselves. I am sure that such proactive initiatives and camps will help the officials to keep a watch on their health.

Dr Sabne mentioned that the PMC, in association with Sahyadri Hospitals,  recently organised a mega health check-up camp for common people, which got tremendous response with more than 650 people attending.

“We will continue to work with PMC on well-being of their employees and citizens in general. PMC can set an example with such camps and follow up on the reports as it would be beneficiary for the employee health,” Dr Apte said.
