Sterling performances by Kamlesh Rawlani and Jagannath Gaddime were a major factor in Sungard and TCS’ effortless win over their respective rivals to complete the semi-finals line up of the 2nd Prithvi Edifice Cup 2018 Inter IT T20 Cricket Championship at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana.
In a high-scoring match, Sungard put aside Yardi by 59 runs before TCS made their match against Persistent an easy affair and completed a 10-wicket win. Sungard pushed themselves after being put into bat and posted 178 which was mainly due to quick-fire efforts by Nitish Sapre 33 (24 balls) and Kamlesh Rawlani 30 n.o (19 balls).
The target proved a high ask for Yardi as they lost wickets regularly barring a defiant knock by Jeevan Gosavi (33). Making matters worse, was the ‘Man of The Match’ Kamlesh Rawlani (3/13) who bowled a good line that kept Yardi in check.
Persistent lost the plot early. Electing to bat first they could only muster 63 and were back in the pavilion after just 11.3 overs. Kaustubh Kale 37 (29 balls) was the lone succour in the innings which otherwise had Sunil Babar (3/26), Rahul Garg (3/8) and a brilliant Jagannath Gaddime (3/3) call the shots.
TCS took no time in raking in the required runs to complete an easy win courtesy a 6.5 over chase Mayank Jasore 29 n.o (19 balls) and Gaurav Bhalerao 26 (21 balls) locked out an early retirement to the day
