BNCA Enters Silver Jubilee Year

Dr Bhanuben Nanawati College of Architecture for Women (BNCA) recently celebrated its 25th foundation day as it enters silver jubilee year.

A blood donation camp and foundation day programme were organized at the college premises. About 50 bottles of blood were collected from the campaign with participation from the students, professors and employees.

At the foundation day programme, past students presented their work and achievements. The past students who presented their work included Nidhi Bhandari, Jagruti Khabbia Jain, Shruti Humne, Seema Mokashi, Anuja Pandit, Poornima Barhate and Rujuta Rode. These students opined that the college days and studies were the foundation of their career where they made their mark not only in Architectural Design but also designing various products.

A periodical e-newsletter of past students was released at the hands of Principal Dr Anurag Kashyap. The programme was organized by Professor Shruti Joshi, Prof Neha Joshi and Prof Mahesh Bangad. Past academic head at BNCA Dr Shubhada Kamlapurkar and Purva keskar were also present on the occasion. Senior Professor Suresh Athavale in his presentation took the audience through the journey of BNCA with a poem .

Established on August 8, 1994, BNCA has been one of the leading Architecture colleges in India and won accolades the world over with its education of global standards and exceptional work and projects executed by its students under the guidance of focused staff members. Dr Kashyap was also felicitated on the occasion as he started his work at BNCA right from the day of inception and has completed as many years at the college.

He said that initially there was a lot of criticism when they opened an architecture college for women.

“But I am proud of the achievements of my students who have been glittering stars in their field. I am also thankful to my colleagues and staff who stood out as a team in all the ups and downs.”
