World Mental Health Day awareness programme

On the eve of World Mental Health Day which falls on October 10, Nityanand Rehabilitation Center hosted a free public awareness programme titled  ‘Manobal- Takad Atmvishwasachi’. It was conducted at Tilak Smarak Mandir and was attended by approximately 500 people.

The programme was inaugurated by Yogesh Gogawale, BJP Pune District President. In his talk, he emphasised on how mental stress is slowly converting into a social epidemic and timely interventions need to be arranged by mental health care providers at large scale. The programme progressed with Dr Supriya Lonkar presenting ‘Pravas Nityanandcha” a talk about how Nityanand’s treatment ideology and infrastructure developed over years. Just before the panel discussion was hosted, Sayli Gokhale, Clinical Psychologist from Nityanand presented information about schizophrenia and addiction and also rehabilitation and aftercare protocol utilised in Nityanand.
