Yardi rode on a swashbuckling knock by Tarun Notani to open their campaign on a winning note against Amdocs in the 2nd Prithvi Edifice Cup 2018 Inter IT T20 Cricket Championship at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana.
In another group league encounter, Maersk cruised past Persistent with another individual performance in Vaibhav Mahadik (74 n.o).
In the opening match, Amdocs were bolwd out for 151 (18 over) with Bhavish Kohali (32) and Aviral Jain (23) to thank after Ankit Rao (3/20) looked effective in his spell.
Yardi took their time and got past the target in 19.2 overs to complete a seven wicket win. The mainstay of the innings was Tarun Notani who created havoc with the 38 balls he faced. With eight boundaries and five sixes and a 60-run fifth-wicket partnership with Pratik Shinde (23) he helped Yardi come clear and log full points.
Later, Persistent set 127/7 against Maersk after patient knocks from Sudhir Paranjpe (32; 33 balls) and Ruturaj Kulkarni (24 n.o; 21 balls) helped the total take shape. For Persistent, Abhishek Rai (2/18) and Prasad Girkar (2/20) did well.
Maersk chasing the target were on a roll with (Raghav Trivedy (55 n.o; 32 balls) and top-scorer Vaibhav Mahadik (74 n.o; 29) ensuring victory with an unbroken partnership or the opening wicket.
