Model toilet block inaugurated at Mulshi school

The Poona Round Table 15, handed over the RTI Coca-Cola and NDTV Support my School Toilet Block Project at Vidya Vikas Mandir, Andhagaon, Mulshi Taluka, on June 17.

The toilet block was inaugurated by Sandeep Boralkar, Director CPS  India, Coca-Cola India in the presence of Sanjay Mathrani, Area  3 Chairman Hitesh Kering, Area 3 Jewel Masood Khajenoori, Tablers from  PRRT 105, the entire Board and projects team.

The project was identified in October 2015 and the brick laying ceremony was held on Nov 14, 2015.

Rotary Club Koregaon Park was also keen to develop this school into a model one. Keeping the best interests of the school in mind and considering that both the  organisations had a common objective of “impacting school children  positively”, both organiations agreed to collaborate to make this a Model Toilet  Block. The new block is equipped with 7 WCs for girls and 4 for boys, 1 WC each for handicapped boys and girls, and 9 urinals for boys. In addition, separate areas have been demarcated  for washing of hands and feet.

A multi-purpose playground with a volley ball net, RO Water Filter providing safe drinking water and tree plantation  are some of the other activities undertaken. By joining hands, Round Table India and Rotary International have made a positive impact on the lives of school children in this area.
