‘Mitra Foundation’, an organisation that strives to promote Indian art and music, is conducting ‘Yuvakruti’, an event to encourage young budding artists. The evening will begin with a flute performance by Saurabh Vartak,a disciple of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, accompanied by Shikhar Naad Qureshi on the African instrument Djembe. Shikhar Naad is the son and disciple of percussionist Taufiq Qureshi and grandson of legendary Tabla exponent Ustad Alla Rakha.
Vocalist Sayali Satyajit Talwalkar will also perform accompanied by Tanmay Devchakke on Harmonium and Pandurang Pawar on Tabla.
Senior guru and artist Pt. Manohar Dabke will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs 10,001 for his contribution to music.
