Paarul Deshpande presents a solo performance based on Ismat Chughtai’s short story Bhabhi. Qubool hai depicts the patriarchal system and how it shapes a woman’s mind-set in putting her identity aside and accepting everything that comes her way. The act takes you through the recollections of a young girl, about the incidents in the life of her Bhabhi, that makes her contemplate the sensitive issues that women face.
Paarul Deshpande has acted in plays like Pakshiteerth, Mulgi Jhali Ho, Agantuk and Pahile Plan and was awarded the Best Actor prize for her role in the one act play ‘Talyat Malyat’ in 11 theatre competitions.
