The Alliance Française de Pune, in association with Gyaan Adab, is pleased to host the photo exhibition “Objectif Sport” in order to showcase the winning works of the international photo contest organised by the Foundation Alliance Française in Paris. Each year, the Foundation Alliance Française organises an International amateur photography contest. Last year, the selected theme was “Objectif Sport” or “Focus: Sport”. Amateur photographers were invited to present their illustration of a sport of their choice – a sport of their country and the values it conveys.
44 photos were selected by a distinguished jury of professional photographers, journalists and gallery owners to be exhibited around the world. Many of these were works of Indian photographers. Rashmi Alevoor’s work illustrating the traditional Maharashtrian sport of Mallakhamb, selected by the Alliance Française de Pune, was also one of the works selected by the jury. To celebrate the sport of her choice, a Mallakhamb demonstration will be held by the Maharashtriya Mandal’s School on Friday March 24 for the inauguration.
The theme for the seventh edition of the International photo contest has also been announced: “La Mode et les codes vestimentaires” i.e. “Fashion and Dress codes”. Amateur photographers in and around Pune are invited to send in their works to the Alliance Française de Pune before June 11 2017.
