The Maharashtra Mountaineers Rescue Coordination Centre was launched on August 28 with an aim to provide round-the-clock search and rescue in the rural areas of Maharashtra. The brainchild of Guardian Giripremi Institute of Mountaineering, the MMRCC is a well-organised body, that can help locate the casualty, connect with local mountaineers, rescue volunteers,the police and ambulance services, and offer first aid.
While launching the helpline, Ramesh Kale, Additional Collector, Pune, urged people to spread awareness about the same. The event saw the presence of Prashant Ranpise, Head, Fire brigade, Pune, Dr Prasad Rajhans, Head, ICU, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Manish Sabade, CMD, Guardian Corp, Umesh Zirpe, Director, GGIM, Niranjan Palsule, Director, GGIM and Ushaprabha Page, Founder, Giripremi.
