A special ciné concert with French and Indian musicians will screen the following four short films of Georges Méliès: A Trip to the Moon (1902), Joan of Arc (1900), Bluebeard (1901) and Kingdom of Fairies (1903).
Georges Méliès, (1861- 1938) was an early French experimenter with motion pictures and the first to film fictional narratives combining illusion, comic burlesque, and pantomime to treat themes of fantasy in a playful and absurd fashion.
