Paranjape Schemes is poised to create Athashri Valley, a 35-acre township exclusively for senior citizens, within its project, Forest Trails. Cricketing legend, Sunil Gavaskar has been signed on as the brand ambassador for Athashri. Managing Director, Shashank Paranjape, announced the initiative at a press conference in the presence of Gavaskar. It follows similar plans to those in the US, where people are able to access Seniors Helping Seniors Home Care to help keep them safe in their later years. The township will have 358 apartments of one and two bedrooms, with health facilities like a mini-hospital, a memory care unit, and an assisted living center. In addition, amenities like an efficient security system, cafeteria and a shuttle bus service, a library, gaming zone, mini-golf, tennis court, and indoor games will also be provided.
Assisted living communities such as these have become increasingly common around the world. In the USA, companies like immanuel.com help senior citizens adjust to the life within these communities via integrating assisted care into people’s prior homes before they enter these locations, and in the UK whilst there are not whole towns around the concept, nursing homes and the like are a common part of elderly life in towns and cities across the nation. It is not easy to see your friends or relatives grow older and lose their ability to be independent in their own homes.
