The Wonderful World Of Whisker And Jojo At The D’Silva’s

Jojo & Whisker

Cats That Obey Commands Like Dogs!

Yes, Jacqueline D’Silva‘s Jojo and Whisker do exactly that…

Whisker and Jojo stretch their paws and go stand mewing at the bedroom door.

They know their food giver, their carer, their groomer, their darling human Jacqueline D’Silva is on the other side.

They need their breakfast and there is no way she will be allowed to sleep in.

Since the time Whisker joined the family nine years ago, irrespective of whether my alarm goes off, or not, the two are mewing me awake at 6 am. It will always be a mystery how they know the time, says the former school teacher.

That is the only demand they have. Otherwise, the boys are very well behaved. Jojo is a grey and white American short-haired and Whisker is a punch faced Persian.

Considering what I had heard about tomcats in the same house, Jojo and Whisker actually always got along very well, since both are gentle and meek. They love to stare out the windows of our home, adds Jacqueline who got her windows fixed so that her cats are never in any danger of falling out.

Nathan & Emerald With Jojo & Whisker

The D’ Silva family is very fond of cats. Jacqueline’s husband Eldon grew up with a Siamese cat named Houdini. As a child, Jacqueline brought home any kitten she found anywhere. Their children have inherited their parents love for cats too.

Whisker is always by Nathan’s (the eldest son) side whether he is studying (on the table), sleeping (by the bed) or wherever he is.

Jojo is closer to Myron, their younger son.

Daughter Emerald, the youngest in the family, plays perfect mommy as she pampers Whisker and Jojo.

She has a cat club in school and has even written a poem on them, that will be published in her school book, says Jacqueline proudly.

Jacqueline’s Tips For Cat Parents:

Adopt if you can because many animals are in need of homes.
Black cats are very lucky.
Cats are exactly like babies who have no idea about the world.
How you behave with them grooms them to face the world.
Keep scratch posts in the house so they use them instead of the furniture.
Give them good food and love.
They are easy to maintain as compared to dogs.
Groom them regularly.
Clean the litter, The cat is then happy and so are you.

Obviously fond of her two, Jacqueline believes her cats have brought her a lot of joy and they cheer her up, if she is sad.

Not just well behaved, Jojo and Whisker also listen to Jacqueline’s commands like `come here’ `sit `down, jump.

Like dogs, they just listen and obey! Im truly blessed to have such well behaved cats, she says. Brushed thrice a week, taken to the spa every four months for a good bath, loved and pampered by the entire family, the cats are naturally happy.

The two have two canine friends – Bambi the Beagle pup and Champ the Labrador.

My sister’ s dogs, initially, there was a lot of hissing and growling when they met, but now everybody ignores everybody when we meet. No complaints she laughs.

Apart from peering out of the windows, Jojo and Whisker love chasing laser lights all over and chasing toys on strings.

Toys like these are a boon for lazy pet parents, she laughs.  Otherwise, get cardboard boxes of any size and watch them snuggle right in.
