Drunk Baggage Handler Flies High

A baggage handler fell asleep while loading and found himself in another city, according to a report.

Police say the baggage handler told them he was drunk when he fell asleep in a cargo hold and flew from Kansas City to Chicago.

American Airlines says the Piedmont Airlines employee was working American Flight 363 when the Boeing 737 left Kansas City International Airport with the handler in a heated and pressurised cargo hold, an AP report said.

A Chicago Police spokesman said he was found when the flight landed about an hour later at Chicago’s O’Hare airport. The spokesman says the handler told police he was intoxicated and had fallen asleep.

No charges were filed, and he was sent back to Kansas City.

Stolen Giant Colon Prop Found

Police recovered a giant inflatable colon that was used to teach about the dangers of colon cancer, says a report.

Police in Kansas City, Missouri, announced on Twitter that a tip led officers to locate the “pilfered intestine” inside a vacant house, according to the AP report.

The 10-foot, 68-kg prop, worth $4,000, was stolen this month from the back of a pickup truck. It had been purchased by the Colon Cancer Coalition.

This coalition hosts walking and running events under a “Get Your Rear In Gear” campaign, and was stored at the University of Kansas Cancer Center.

There is a silver lining to the story. Donations poured in after the theft and the coalition was able to purchase two replacement colons.

Ceiling Fall Woman Reveals Naked Truth

Customers at a restaurant in the US were in for a surprise when the naked truth was revealed to them, says a report.

Police in Tennessee say a half-naked woman fell twice through a restaurant’s ceiling and landed in its kitchen, says an AP report.

News outlets report 26-year-old Harley C. Morton was arrested on charges including trespassing and disorderly conduct.

A Kingsport police report says a Cook Out employee called 911 when the naked bottom half of a woman dropped through the ceiling tiles.

It says a responding officer found her wallet with her ID on the restaurant’s roof. Police say she may have got into the ceiling through an air conditioning unit.

It says Morton fell through the ceiling again while the officer was on the roof. It says she landed on the floor and was arrested by other officers.

Pumpkin-Powered Crime Spree Halted

Two men in the US found a novel way to go on a crime spree, says a report.

Police in the southern Oregon town of Grants Pass have arrested the two men suspected in a pumpkin-powered crime spree, ending weeks of incidents of smashed gourds and broken car windows, according to the AP report.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Jacob Solomon and Adrian Ochoa, both 19, face multiple counts of criminal mischief in connection with at least 50 vehicles vandalised and damaged, authorities said.

Police say Solomon and Ochoa drove around town at night snatching pumpkins from outdoor supermarket displays which they would hurl through car windows.

A police spokesperson says damages reported by victims are at about $30,000 and continue to climb.

Police say they were helped in finding the suspects because they carried out the alleged vandalism in an easily-recognisable gold Buick with a large dent in one side.

Lion Cub Found In Garage

France’s customs agency says it’s made an extremely surprising discovery in a garage in Marseille: a lion cub, according to a report.

Marseille’s customs brigade found a small female lioness inside a cage that weighed just “a few kg”. Experts say she’s 1 to 2 months old and has not been weened.

The agency said a man who was placed in detention said he acquired the cub from some people in “a building” in the southern French city who said they didn’t know how to look after a wild cat and gave the animal up.

The custom agency says the feline was immediately handed over to France’s animal protection group for specialised care.
