Meeran Chadha Borwankar is the former Inspector General, Prisons, Maharashtra. She shared numerous anecdotes ranging from encounters with members of the underworld, shootouts to intercepting caches of arms in the dead of the night.
She also spoke about thriving in a male-dominated force in a crowded hall. This interactive dialogue session took place at Gyaan Adab, South Avenue, Kalyani Nagar where Sudha Menon, author, columnist and writing coach interviewed Borwankar.
She mentioned working with passion and dedication is the only thumb rule that she religiously follows. The inspector has penned down her journey started from a small town in Punjab to her working as a police officer, in her book ‘Leaves of Life’.
