Doctor, I have noticed my 19-year-old son is behaving strangely for the past two months. One week he is very happy, excited and full life. He goes out, keeps shopping and seems full of energy. Suddenly the following few days he is very quiet and just sits in the room. He doesn’t meet even his girlfriend during this time. I tried asking him but he said nothing was wrong. This is happening almost every week and I am really worried now. My husband says he’s fine and its normal mood swings at his age. My friend suggested that I write to you for your advice. Is this normal?

Any such behaviour could be a mental issue or a normal variant from ages 16 to 20 years. this behaviour can be normal but if there is anything that catches the eye of the parents then it must be taken seriously. Please observe your son’s behaviour on a functional level when it comes to academics and social behaviour. It could be dysthymia, which is mild depression. My family and friends tell me that I have become very irritable and keep arguing about everything all the time. They said it must be because of my BP but I have been checking it every week and its always normal. Yesterday also I checked and it was 110/75. I don’t know why this happens but I feel a little strange and get angry with almost everything. Please help me doctor. Do I have a mental problem?

Your blood pressure is normal as assessed. A mix of anxiety and depression causes irritability. With this being said, it comes as no surprise to find that some people who suffer from anxiety/depression would opt into using products like cbd oil florida, in the hopes of making it a lot easier to manage. We can all do with help sometimes, especially when it comes to our health. If you easily lose your temper or have disturbed sleep then it points towards a mental health issue. Your mood swings may be a case of dysthymia, which is a state of being mildly depressed. You should consult a mental health specialist if this behaviour persists. They might offer you a way to help with your depression, whether that is through antidepressants or alternative medicines such as cannabis and cannabis-based products. This results in mood swings and anxiety that lasts for weeks. I am scared that I may end up doing something that I can’t control. Please advise?

Anxiety since childhood may be the base for your behaviour. As we grow up, we also grow to become more impulsive. If there is sever impulse, then you may end up harming yourself and relationships. Impulse discontrol can manifest as episodic anger or irrational behaviour, fire setting, kleptomania and trichotillomania. All of these come under impulse discontrol.
