Pune was in full swing this weekend as it hosted its flagship music fest Bacardi NH7 Weekender, one of the most anticipated live music experiences. The eighth edition of the fest, the Mahalaxmi Lawns, saw performances by nationally and internationally renowned artists such as American guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, fusion icons Indian Ocean, Hindi rock band The Local Train, Indigo Children, The Ram Sampath Experience (led by Bollywood composer Ram Sampath), Bombay Bassment, Urdu rock band Parvaaz, Dutch metal band Textures, who played their final show after 17 years as a band, Hindi pop band Ankur & The Ghalat Family among others.
For the first time ever, the music festival saw artists from the Indian comedy scene performing live. The musical comedy trio Aisi Taisi Democracy along with popular stand-up comedians Kunal Rao, Sumukhi Suresh, Kautuk Srivastava, Nishant Tanwar, Vaibhav Sethia, Urooj Ashfaq and Anirban Dasgupta, Naveen Richard, Rohan Joshi, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kaneez Surka, Kunal Kamra performed in one of the five festival stages.
Your Happy Place, The Story of Space, Camp Tinder, The Google Pixel 2 Zone, The Levis’ Tailor Shop, The Bazaar were some other things to keep the crowd engaged. The festival was disabled-friendly, as well as pet and child-friendly.
