Satiating your craving for authentic Thai cuisine will no longer blow a huge hole in your pocket. Pune now offers several authentic Thai outlets that are both affordable and worth visiting.

Here’s our pick of five popular places you can give a try:

Buddhas Food Palace

This is a food truck that serves you some authentic fare and is a welcome change from the regular burger trucks. Located in Wanowarie, this has apparently got popular in the area for its Thai and Chinese dishes. Their Pad Thai and Basil Chicken are some of the hot sellers. With a nice friendly vibe, they have some outdoor seating and also do home delivery in the area.

However, they are only open from 5PM to 11PM from Wednesday to Sunday and are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Cost: Rs 400 for two (approx.)

Mini Wok Oriental Kitchen

True to its  name, this is a small joint that is often crowded with the students from the colleges around. Considered a ‘go to’ place for drool worthy and as good as some of the more expensive large restaurants.

Some of their more popular dishes include the Manchow soup, Dimsums, and Burmese Khowsuey.

Address: 7, Charu Chandra Apartments, Next to OM Super Market, Model Colony.

Cost : Rs 650 for two (approx.)

Thai House

A cozy, well-lit, Thai feel vibe, gives Thai House the edge in Khadki. With authentic tongue twister named Thai dishes on the menu, it may be advisable to take their courteous staff’s help in placing your order.

Their regular customers recommend their deep-fried ice-cream dessert and fried creamy vanilla ice cream dressed in icing powder. Booking a table would be safer on the weekends.

Cost: Rs 1,200 for two (approx.)

Pimp My Wok

With a quirky name and some great food, Pimp My Wok is a refreshing option in the sea of food trucks in the city. Right from choosing the portion size to your favourite protein right to the base, veggies, sauces and condiments, they allow for great customisation.

This may be a little tricky for the non-foodie, yet it is interesting to know what goes in to your bowl of chow. Chinese is another cuisine one can choose from. They are open from 4PM to 1AM every day to satisfy your late night hunger pangs.

Address: Food Truck Zone, Dorabjee Lane, Viman Nagar.
