Where do I begin, to tell the story of a man who went too soon…
An incredible human with a warm and loving heart.
A man whose departure leaves such a humungous void.
Where do I start?
Was it just yesterday I got a call asking me to host a dinner for a fashion designer from Goa.
You came. We ate. Laughed. Did a photo shoot. And then you got the call about your mum.
You were as devastated then as we are now with such an untimely death.
And so began a cherished friendship.
That suffused my mind with unforgettable memories.
Drinking copious amounts of champagne through the afternoon at the Goa Marriot.
Cheering for you at fashion shows in Mumbai, Pone and even Paris.
Meeting eclectic friends in London, New York, Goa.
The uncle who gave my boys their first glass of wine.
Endless phone conversations discussing politics, glam world gossip, confiding our woes and giggling about nonsense.
Wearing your bathrobe and walking into a party with elan because you told me to.
Feeling uber feminine in your creations and reveling in the compliments.
I know I’ll miss…..
Your brutal honesty.
Your sense of fairness.
Our gossip sessions.
And above all, your friendship.
We lived miles apart and then oceans apart but the spark of that friendship never dimmed.
You are now dancing with the stars.
But your legacy lives forever.
