Kasarsai Dam is a part of the Kusgaon Lake and the sunset from this point offers a picturesque experience.

Kasarsai is known to be an ideal destination for a family outing.  Swimming is also believed to be safe here and tourists are often spotted boating, bird watching and enjoying the spectacular view.

The lake is surrounded by hills covered with lush greenery on one side and on the other, is the beautiful water body. The dam is also home to many migratory birds.

Getting There:

By Train: If you’re coming by train, the nearest railway station to reach Kasarsai is Dehu road and Talegoan. Once you get down from the train you can take an auto-rickshaw or cab to reach Kasarsai.

By Road: There is no mode of public transport available near this area, so drive yourself or book a cab and enjoy the view on both sides of the road. Drive from Pune- Aundh road- Hinjewadi- Marunji- Kasarsai road- Kasarsai dam. It is an open space so parking won’t be an issue.

The place is also famous for night camping offered by various resorts in the vicinity. The soft breeze and the clear sky makes it perfect. Tents placed near the lakeside offers a beautiful view of both the sunrise and sunset.

Overnight campaigns offer bonfires, live music and barbecued food. You can also go on your own, as the dam is open to all nature lovers.

Kasarsai also has some fascinating water sports like Kayaking, speed boat rides, Banana boat rides, scooters over the crystal clear water.

Food

You need to be depend on the local stalls for food near the Kasarsai Lake.If you get to the village, a variety of cuisine is served in restaurants nearby. The camping options offered by resorts come with the food.

Places To Visit

Kasarsai is not very far from the city and hence has limited options close by. There are a few temples like the Lijmai Temple, Datta Mandir and the Jain temple.

Gravitation Park is a lesser known amusement park in Pune though it is considered Pune’s largest Edutainment Park. It contains fun & entertainment options with Virtual Reality (VR) in many of the rides/sections.
