Here’s a selection of some interesting variants of the all-time favourite Idli that we at Pune365 found exciting.
Kanchipuram Idli is a traditional south Indian idly seasoned with pepper, cumin seeds and curry leaves. These Idlis are cooked in bamboo casings lined with dried “mandharai” leaves. The mandharai leaves add to the flavour of the idlis. Kanchipuram idlis are served with sambhar and green coconut mint chutney. Mr and Mrs Idly has wide variety of Idlis, Dosas and Vada. As they say, Idli is a word but podi idli is an emotion. Podi idli – richly coated mini idlis in podi or lentil masala- A mixture of dry spices that typically contains dried chilies, urad dal, chickpeas, salt and sesame seeds. Mini Idlis are dipped in podi and served with sambhar and chutney. Iddos – as the name suggests it serves a wide variety of idlis in the city. Try any idli from their menu and it won’t disappoint you. Another worth trying dishes in the restaurant are Filter Coffee, Idli, Filter Kaapi, Pineapple Kesari, Upma, Masala Dosa, and Medu Vada

Love Chinese? And South Indian food? How about Idli chilly? prepared in Chinese style with a perfect combination of schezwan, tomato and soya sauce. Pan tossed veggies with fried idlis will satisfy your hunger for Chinese and crispy idlis. Idli chilly is served with schezwan and green chutney. Dosa Plaza is located in Magarpatta and serves a wide range of dosa that is cooked to perfection. Alu Masala Stuffed Idly
Stuffed idli is one of the healthiest breakfast options who are just not up for plain idli sambhar. The potato filling in the idli makes it flavourful and unique. Alu Masala stuffed Idly are soft and moist, they are served with sambhar and coconut chutney. Way down South Restaurant serves lip-smacking south Indian cuisine.
