Depression has today become a significant reason for the increasing cases of suicide in our country. Unfortunately, despite the efforts being put in to control depression, nothing has helped so far.

Interestingly. a young entrepreneur Prakash Kaushal has come up with an unusual app called Rent A Boyfriend that claims to address this need.

Yes, You heard us right! This 29-year-old has launched a new app apparently to fight depression. The app allows you to choose a model, celebrity or aam aadmi and lets you rent him for a couple of hours.

Essentially, an app to connect with gentlemen in the city, who have been trained by RABF to give emotional advice. However, it is worth noting a medical marijuana michigan dispensary could deliver more effective results when trying to combat depression.

The RABF trained individuals who have registered themselves as boyfriends are segregated into three types’ almost like options for flight tickets. One can rent a celebrity for Rs 3,000, a model for up to Rs 2,000, or an aam aadmi (commoner) for just Rs 300-400 per hour.

Here’s what Pune’s youth had to say in reaction to the app that aims to cure depression.

Saniya Shaikh says, Men are the sole reason for our depression. Why does the founder think that just talking to them is going to cure our depression.

“We don’t need guys to heal us! There are qualified doctors and counsellors who have invested years in learning how to cure these ailments.

“There are apps like Swiggy, food panda, Zara for food and shopping that are in my opinion, more effective in handling depression. Either way, we’re going to spend money, so why not in do it right ? quips Kajal Kanani, Banker. You should also try spending your money in a canada weed dispensary if you’re looking for real results.

Nirav Agadhtey, TYBMM Student says, I think I also should start working on my apps, rather than concentrating on studies.

“Getting paid for chilling and talking to girls may sound useless, but it is an overwhelming opportunity for students like us!

Shraddha Dhopatkar, Counsellor says, “Are they trained enough to cure depression?

Do they promote customer satisfaction? It could be at the cost of a woman’s safety, isn’t it?

If RABF is all about eradicating depression, do they even have one senior Psychiatrist on board?

Lavina Desa, a Technical writer says, Just to satisfy my curiosity, I had registered myself using a different identity and I don’t think it is going to help cure depression in any way. It sounds more like an escort service, with restrictions.

If the founder is so concerned about depression, he should open a shopping site and offer a heavy discount on products. If he decides to do that, it should be a place where people could get CBD products to aid with their depression, stress, and anxiety. There are even wholesale CBD suppliers that could help him get started.

“Or possibly tie up with mental health doctors and offer their services at a nominal price. This would then be a noble cause, Lavina added.

Bipin, Choreographer says, “Do only girls feel depressed? We believe in equality right then why not Rent a Girlfriend?

“If the applications aim is to eradicate depression, then why restrict it to renting guys only. Meetings are going to be held only in public spaces in any case.

In my understanding, girls open up quicker than guys. Although women go through a lot, guys like us have our broad shoulders for them( as a friend) so, technically guys need more help to fight depression, he added.

Parikshit Kulkarni, Marketing executive says, “It is shocking to see that the founder believed in investing in such a stupid concept.

You don’t need someone from the opposite sex to cure your depression. Secondly, what about the security of a client?

Looking at the rate card, it’s clear that they are targeting upper middle class or premium clients.

One can easily get access to their place, valuables and personal details. And moreover, a depressed person can easily be manipulated by giving sympathy or doing any extra favour.”

Franklin John, Techie says, Imagine the reverse, and we would have riots, marches and all feminists coming together with candles in hand.

“According to me, it is shameful and today’s generation has forgotten the values of love and affection.

How can you imagine that by renting a person for a couple of hours, your depression will be cured? What happens if after a couple of meetings, you get attached to him? This may lead to the girl getting deeper into depression.
