Ishanya Art and Culture Club presents a dance ballet, Urmila: The Forgotten Wife, on November 26 at Ishanya Amphitheater. An adaptation of Pervin Saket’s novel Urmila, the ballet explores the story of Urmila, the wife of Laxman from the Ramayana. The dance incorporates the graceful sequences of Bharatanatyam, and the evocative movements of Odissi,with the beauty of Kathak and the poetry of the author, to create a visual treat.
An interaction with the audience, providing a look at Urmila’s journey and a discussion on her space in our lives today, will follow.
