Art for Concern’s Exhibition of Traditional and Folk Art (TAFA) is being held at Mona Lisa Kalagram and is an attempt to showcase indigenous art forms and artists, and ensure that their legacy endures. Some of the art forms include miniature art from Rajasthan, exquisite chola bronze sculptures – 8th to 9th Century from Tamil Nadu, mata ni pachedis from Gujarat, kalighat paintings from West Bengal, madhubani paintings from Bihar, pichwai and phad paintings from Rajasthan and hand painted kalamkari paintings from Andhra Pradesh.
The endeavour is not only lucrative for the artists, but also provides them an opportunity to showcase their work in prominent galleries.
