The Sweetest Cats Are Hers Says Sumera Qureshi

Sumera Qureshi always wanted a cat. When she met Balloo the mother she fell in love. Soon Balloo had babies and Sumera knew she wanted them with her forever!

And so she brought home six! Balloo – almost 2 years, Shifu and Bu-Bu over a year old, and Teddy, Baghira and Chi-Chi – they will turn 1 in October have captured Sumera’s heart indeed. Though her work as an associate technical lead gives her little time with her cats on weekdays, she makes up for it on weekends.

Entertainment

We play a lot of games with balls, laser lights, mouse toys. They all have their favourite games but as a team they all love to play with the mouse wand and laser light. Its fun to see them run from here to there behind that tiny red laser dot. They look so cute while trying to catch it.

Quality Time

At home, all my time is theirs. My brother and I always make sure that either of us is there with them apart from our working hours. We play in the morning and evening with them and make sure every meow is heard. The weekend is all about playing, petting, cuddling and TREATS! Their meews tell me that Im their favourite human.

The Funnie

Sometimes,  they get  hold of the toilet paper roll or aluminium foil and it becomes like their best day ever! It is trouble for me but their love is worth it.

Sometimes they hide behind the curtains with just their heads covered and think they are hidden. I have a hearty laugh.

Sometimes they all want to fit in one cardboard box which looks ridiculously funny. They haven’t realised that when they were kittens they all fit in but now they are not small.
Three of my cats fetch ball when we throw it like dogs. Others are cats in progress.

The Routine

They all wake up around sunrise, then they stretch and start to play. We give them breakfast around 6 in the morning then they play a little more then by 8 they all nap. The remaining day is full of play and naps! Dinner is at 8 pm and they turn in for the night around 10.30 pm.

The tedious bit is perhaps cleaning the fur. We have to vaccum the whole house every other day. Everything is kept under covers because six cats shed a lot of fur!

My Stressbusters

I brush them, cuddle them, kiss them, pet them a lot!I don’t have words to describe what my pets mean to me. They are such a big part of my life…they cheer me up when I am low, show their love by their meows and their touches… basically they are everything to me.

Pets teach us about love, they give a sense of satisfaction and cheer us up when we are in bad mood. Everybody should have a pet. Adopt, like I did!
