Dressing up for a summer wedding in India is a tricky affair and not just for the bride and the groom but for those in attendance as well!

The extreme hot temperature, open air venues, humidity are some of the factors that should be considered while looking for a wedding outfit.

Remember, you just can’t pull off a chunky, heavily embroidered dark coloured net or satin lehenga for a morning wedding without being terribly uncomfortable right through…

The trick lies in choosing cool summer fabrics, light and pastel colours and complimenting floral, self-print or light embroidery for an Indian outfit.

Here are some of the cues that the B-town damsels gave the fashion followers on social media for the perfect look at a summer wedding.

Pastels Win

The modern bride has a unique couture vision for her wedding and she has it all chalked out. Be it ethereal or just elegant and chic, she plays by her own rules.

Sticking to the traditional or playing with pastel colours right from the outfits for the sangeet, mehendi, reception or the wedding day is just perfect for a summer wedding .

Bollywood leading ladies aka Anushka Sharma, Neha Dhupia and Sonam Kapoor have sported this elegance in their looks too.

Fabric Rules

It is the fabric you choose that will determine the level of comfort you enjoy at the grand events. Light fabrics that breathe and do not stick to the skin in a humid or sweaty environment will keep you cool and airy.

Trending now are Ivory or gold hued Chikankari dresses that are comfortable and look classy and elegant.

Go With The Flow

A beach wedding and mandatory pool parties are the newest additions to summer weddings. Finding a dress that is easy, flowing and comfortable for the big day can however pose a challenge.

Flowing full-length gowns with exquisite necklines perfectly accessorised with a belt and teamed with a top bun can easily make you the queen of such gathering.

Say It With A Saree

When it comes to choosing an Indian ensemble, Sarees, Lehenga-choli’s and Anarkali’s are the first options that comes to the mind.

Sarees are a timeless wardrobe essential and can be customised according to every occasion, mood or weather. A skilfully draped saree with a ‘pallu’ that steals the show is the minimalistic look which is in vogue now.

Glitz and glam are a party essential but in moderation. Keep the shimmer going- intricate  embellishment and embroidery on light fabrics is a sound option.
