“When Siddharth and myself were pursuing our post-graduation, getting our clothes laundered was a major headache,” says Anurag Poddar, co-founder at HeyDhobi.

“Our regular laundry guy was forever disorganized. He used to work on his own terms sans any regard for our time. The quality of service was severely lacking while the charges were exorbitant,” he reveals spelling out the dirty laundry dilemma that led to the inception of their startup.

Startup Essentials

An on-demand laundry service, HeyDhobi focuses on the convenience of the end user.
Their high efficiency, eco friendly washing machines and dryers regulate quality with the addition of water softeners.
Having processed over 7000 orders and 150000 apparel, the start-up has over 900 customers with 60% repeat customers ordering at least once a month.

“We faced the same situation when we relocated to other cities on completion of our MBA. We realized that there is a huge gap between what you expect and what was being delivered.

It was then, that Siddharth KothariNemiraj Dhoka and I co-founded HeyDhobi to ease the problem faced by so many students and working Puneites,” grins Anurag explaining that they pride themselves on using the best machinery and detergents in order to give the end user quality service.”

Quiz him about his life as a startup founder and he obliges sharing, “My typical day begins at 7 am when I chalk out the day’s routine. I’m at the office by 9.30 am. Most Mondays are usually packed with meetings and I use any spare moment to touch base with our core team members.

“We’re a bunch of young people who really go the extra mile to make our goals a reality,” he says of his team at HeyDhobi.

“Our core team comprises of 5 members where each of us bring  our own skill sets and unique talents to the table. We work on a weekly review method where we chalk out our goals for the current week and review them next week to analyze how our strategies and operations have worked out.

CEO After Hours

Outside of work Anurag loves to sketch and swim.
Cooking up a nice meal on the typical weekend, he spends most mornings playing cricket with a bunch of friends.
Evenings are spent catching up an old friend over a cup of tea.

“We brainstorm on ideas to understand facets where we can improve service to achieve better results for greater growth. At the moment, we’re looking to maximize repeat customers,” shares the young founder.

“We want every new customer to return, and every repeat customer as our staunchest advocate!” beams Anurag. He signs off adding that they take customer feedback extremely seriously and try to minimize the complaints.
