Tarun Mishra and Sumit Sharma, co-founders of BizOperator

Welcome to Pune365’s 50th Startup Story !!!

Business are becoming more and more digitised, from using file management software like FilecenterDMS to using virtual assistants, and now yet another development has taken place. Operating and handling your business on the cloud is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon due to its numerous advantages. These include cloud operations being cost-effective, energy-efficient, adding flexibility for your business infrastructure and improving security. Above all, thanks to services such as Cloudpay it is even now possible to outsource your business payroll through the wonders of cloud technology. Cloud-based applications have become a huge part of the business world, it helps companies connect all over the world. Using a cloud-based phone system provides better communication between clients, businesses etc. Gamma has designed its own system for people to use, this business phone system can be found on their site at Gamma.co.uk. Correspondingly, BizOperator, a city-based startup provides cloud computing and several other communication tools that help businesses handle management without any technological restraints.

Started by Tarun Mishra and Sumit Sharma in February 2017, this B2B venture caters mostly to companies around India that deal in automobiles, pathology labs, e-commerce and marketing services. “We have many tools that these companies can use for communication. One is the ‘Smart Operator‘ which is a cloud-based phone system that enables businesses to have one number where customers can call. The second feature is the ‘Miss Call Solution’ which is a new concept in India. The customers give a missed call and then they care called back by the company. The third is ‘Click to Call’ which helps to track outbound calls,” explains Mishra.

Apart from the above mentioned three features, BizOperator also offers systemized Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools like data analytics of the calls and in-depth reports along with call recordings that help businesses maintain and understand customers. With such tools, you may also be able to use Salesforce ActiveCampaign integration to keep your customers all in one place.

But offering technologically advanced services comes with certain challenges. “Startup challenges are different from what you face when you’re working for a corporate company. Being a part of a startup is a 24-hour job. You have to take care of all departments like technology, marketing, sales, and your clients. We had to delve into a lot of research and development as well as narrow down on what the market really needs. Most importantly, customers need to be aware of these services. Not many know about cloud telephony yet though many are receptive of the ideas. Pune lacks in that ecosystem and digitization takes time,” says Sharma.

With a team of eight people, this venture sees itself filling CRM-related gaps in the market for several other companies. “We want to help companies bring everything on one platform that can capture and analyze data. The second market we will target in the future is Singapore. It is a very digitally prepared place that is accepting of such services,” states Sharma.

Giving out advice to young entrepreneurs, Mishra adds that starting something new is a tough decision but it can be made by analyzing everything before getting into it. “It is necessary to understand the market you’re venturing into.

A budding entrepreneur must know how to hire the right people for the right job. I feel that it is necessary to have a partner so that the perspectives being offered are fresh and new.”
