One is lady-like, like Zeenat Aman, says her mommy while the other is a caring gentleman. One watches her every step, the other just rolls along! At 6 and 8, the two furry ones are right up in Rashmi Verma and husband Raj Kamal’s hearts.
Meet cocker Spaniels – Angel and Pikachoo
The Duo
Says Rashmi, founder director Acumen Events, “On a walk, Angel will never step into puddles. She uses all her grace to walk around them.” Pikachoo on the other hand doesn’t really look at the finer aspects of a walk. For him, any time is walk time and anybody is a walk buddy. Angel is selective about when and who she goes out with. Thats one part of being the pampered fine furred black 8 year old, Pikachoo, and the smart 6 year old golden girl, Angel.
The Love
“While Angel is competitive about getting our attention, Pikachoo is very co-operative and lets her get her way. He doesn’t mind it,” adds Rashmi who is very attached to her pooches. In fact, at the end of a long day at work, she yearns to go home. “They are in my heart and I look forward to going home to them,” explains Rashmi.
Early Days
She bought Pikachoo off a tempo travelling with him and other dogs to Mumbai. “I saw the weak little 14 day old and knew I couldn’t leave him there,” she remembers. The next and bigger hurdle lay in convincing Raj Kamal about keeping Pikachoo. “Initially I tried to keep him off the sofa and the bed but I saw Raj Kamal melting. He became a dog lover and made it really easy to get Angel into the family,” she laughs. That’s a wonderful feeling, the ability to make people fall in love with the canine kind!
Tips
Dogs need love so if you can give that, get a dog.
They like to stick to you and to follow you around.
At heart they are very soft and gentle.
They don’t like to be alone for long periods.
