Sahyadri Hospitals launches Unique All-Women Initiative

Sahyadri Hospitals has come up with a unique initiative called EVA clinic.

The Eva Clinic – is a unique all-women’s surgery clinic with women surgeons. It is a specialized, dedicated unit offering comprehensive consultation and surgical services for women.

Like men, women also suffer from similar diseases like Piles, Fissures, Fistula, Haemorrhoids, Rectal bleeding, Gall bladder stone, Pancreatic stones, Hernia and other problems.

Due to nature of these diseases, majority of the women try to avoid and neglect themselves because of reservations in their mind to get examined by a male surgeon. However, the best way to treat these diseases is by going to a professional hemorrhoid surgeon, who will alleviate the patient of their problem while making them feel comfortable and secure.

The clinic was inaugurated at a function held at Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital Nagar Road at the hands of Chief Guest Mayor Mukta Tilak in the presence of Guest of Honour Commissioner of Police Pune Rashmi Shukla.

Also present Dr Jayashree Apte, Executive Director – Sahyadri Hospitals and Dr Jayashree Todkar, Obesity Expert and Director Sahyadri Hospitals and JT obesity Solutions – ‘O’ clinic, Dr. Padma Iyer, President – Indian Medical Association (IMA) Pune, Dr Maya Tulpule, Past President IMA and Dr Sunil Rao Group COO Sahyadri Hospitals.

Eva Clinic will be open on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday 3pm to 5pm at Deccan Gymkhana, Nagar Road, Hadapsar, Kothrud and Bibwewadi. The specialized services will include dedicated and highly trained women surgeons , comprehensive consultation services, specialized surgical packages and well defined clinics.

The clinic includes Breast Clinic (for breast and related diseases), Proctology Clinic (for treatments for Piles, Fissures, Fistula, Haemorrhoids, Rectal bleeding) Digestive Disorders Clinic (for all digestive and liver diseases and surgeries for gall bladder stone/pancreatic stones etc), Hernia Clinic (for surgical treatments of all types of Hernias), besides support services like Physiotherapy & Nutrition Counselling.

The Eva Clinic Team includes general and laparoscopic surgeons Dr. Jayashree Todkar, Dr. Preeti Rodgers, Dr. Shilpa Naik, Dr. Anagha Wadgaonkar, Dr. Shama Shaikh, Dr. Gauri Singh, Dr. Suhasini Jadhav.

??Ms Tilak said that “The concept of engaging women for their health is good. Women normally don’t go to doctors and this later creates health problems for her”.

“For those from the weaker economic sections and who cannot afford surgeries, it is necessary to spread awareness about Shahari Garib Vaidyakiya Yojana so that this initiative helps women from all sections of the society,” she added.

Ms Shukla said that “Women’s health have often been taken for granted, many a times we do it unknowingly. So it is important to take care of women’s health and it should start from our home.”

Dr Apte said, “Sahyadri has always put its foot forward and started new initiatives in healthcare. With this unique initiative- EVA, women will have freedom to express their discomfort.”.

Dr Todkar said, “EVA is a unique women’s surgical clinic where seven women surgeon will work together with one philosophy to create awareness about women’s health.

As a part of launch initiative Sahyadri Hospitals has announced special screening camp exclusively for women until July 20.

it will include consultation with women surgeon at special discounts, including 25% Discount on Pathology Lab Investigations and Diagnostic and discounts on surgeries, if advised.

The clinic will assist with consultation and treatment for women facing Heart Burn, Acidity, constipation, pain in abdomen, blood in stool, Repeated Vomiting, Hernia, Piles, Fissures, Fistula, Lump in breast and Stones in Gall bladder, Bile duct and Pancreas.
