Our city has had a special association with the movies, and it was only appropriate we had our very own Imax screen. Welcome, Cinepolis at Aundh. An eight-screen multiplex at Westend Mall, Aundh was inaugurated earlier today (June 22) by actor Irrfan Khan in the presence of Javier Sotomayar, Managing Director, Cinépolis India.
The multiplex has set up a state-of-the-art Imax theatre with Dolby Atmos, which employs up to 64 speakers to heighten the realism of every scene. It will run around 40 shows daily. Also on offer is state-of-the-art 3-D technology from Real-D systems ensuring that movie characters come alive. Well, almost.
“Cinépolis is committed to offering the best cinema experience to movie goers in India. We already have presence in Pune with India’s biggest multiplex at Seasons Mall and this technologically advanced multiplex will widen our presence in this city,” said Sotomayor.
