If you’ve been looking into share trading platforms south africa then now is the perfect time to invest some of your savings! In a first for the city, Puneites can now check stock prices, shares and other rates in real time on its very own live ticker, which is on display from today. The ticker is located outside the office of Pune E- Stock Broking (PESB), a corporate broking house, at Shukrawar Peth.

“We had to take permission from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). It’s an agreement based on which they provide us with live rates that are replicated on our system and then displayed on the LED ticker,” explains Daidipya Ghodnadikar, Compliance Officer, PSEB.

Speaking of the process involved, he added that, they had to seek permission from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) as well to display this.

“It took a lot of resources to set this up and a whole month to get everything done. BSE suggested an authorised vendor for us and according to them, we are only, the second in Maharashtra to have a live display. We are not just showing share prices, but we will also very soon be displaying rates of commodities from the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), which gives the rates of metals like gold, silver, aluminium, etc.”

In line with market timings, the ticker is active from 9 am till 3:30 pm, though the display for commodities will be updated right up until 11:30 pm. Keeping in mind the people’s interest in watching live updates, Ghodnadikar adds, that even though the ticker wasn’t live earlier, there were many interested. “We were displaying just the name of the company on the ticker since October 19. This was attracting a lot of attention and a lot of passers-by took notice.

In July 2015, PSEB took over the Pune Stock Exchange (PSE), formed in January 1982, with a majority stake, as PSE was de-recognised by SEBI in April that year as it chose to exit as bourse.
