#PritvhiEdificeT20:Cognizant, Yardi, Veritas Qualify For Knock Out

Yardi finished with three wins in a row, while Cognizant and Veritas recorded their second wins to storm into the knock out (loast-8) round in the 2nd Prithvi Edifice Cup 2018 Inter IT T20 Cricket Championship at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana.

Cognizant recorded the biggest win among the three qualifiers registering a 73-run win over Sungard in high-scoring Group-A encounter.

Electing to bat first, Cognizant riding on a 62-runs (40 balls) third-wicket partnership between Man of the Match Vaibhav Rajurkar (62) and Aditya Saraswat (31) set 197/7 off 20 overs.

In reply, Sungard fell short and shot out for 127 in 16.1 overs. Rahul Bhat (3/47), Aman Wani (3/22) and Puneet Karan (2/27) were the main wreckers in chief. For Sungard Abhijeet Deshpande 37 (24 balls stood out)

Yardi topped Group-B with a rare all-win record with a a 5-wicket win over Symantec. Batting first Symantec aided by 22 runs from sundries managed 137/6, with Bharat Pallod (40) leading from the front with an unbeaten run-a-ball innings.

Yardi had no difficulty in their chase and aided by Tarun Notani (36 n.o) and Amit Radkar (24) raced to the target in 17.1 overs. Symantec still have a chance to move into the Kos as they have tow games in hand.

In Group-C, Veritas defended their 154/9 total against Jonson Controls of India (JCI) to sign off with a 34-run victory. Veritas had their innings built on the 65-run (41 ball) sixth-wicket partnership between Man of The Match Amrit Alok (50) and Sushant Mulay (20).

In response, Jonson Controls of India began well with Vallabha Wanarkar (43) and Shyam Sunder (23) putting on 60-runs (66 balls) for the second wicket. However, once Sumit Dighe (3/17) and Shubham P. (2/27) stepped in the JCI innings ground to a halt and ended with 120/9 at the end of 20 mandatory overs.
