Prithvi Edifice Cup 2016 : Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Atos held centre-stage

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Atos held centre-stage by scoring impressive victories over Maersk Global Service Centre and Amdocs Development Centre India respectively in the 2nd Prithvi Edifice Cup 2016 Inter IT T20 Cricket Championship, at the Deccan Gymkhana ground, here on Sunday.

TCS stood tall against newbies Maersk with a 69-run win, but the victory was laced with two high points; logged the highest score of the tournament and had Mayank Jasore earn the distinction of scoring the fastest fifty.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, TCS put up 199 for 5, which included an 124-run opening-wicket partnership between Mayank and Mohamed Saleemuddin off just 62 balls.

Mayank led from the front scoring 76 (31 balls), which included 50 off just 19 balls. Giving him company was Mohammed (51; 34 balls).

In reply, Maersk put up a fight but managed 125 after Venkatesh Iyer (64 (38 balls) played a single-hero innings. Glen George (21) was the next best batsmen. For TCS, Rahul Garg (2/8) and K. Gupta (2/14) did well.

In the second match, Atos got past Amdoc with five wickets and five balls to spare. Amdoc, batting first, put on a competitive 151/9, with Amit Joshi (60) doing well in company of Shailendra Bakare (28).

Atos set out their chase with Umair Momin (76) playing a cautious innings that set tone of the win. Umair along with Vignesh Mohan (39) put on a match-winning 91-run second-wicket partnership off 72 balls.
