The Popular Street Food Festival, ‘World Dhaba’ celebrated it’s third season and pushed the envelope of Pune’s gastronomic space. The fete dished out a plethora of cuisines that included Mexican, Greek, Thai and Arabic. Not to forget, the quintessential Chinese and Pan-Indian, desserts included !

It was a great opportunity for puneites to do some armchair travelling and introduce their taste buds to a myriad flavours of exotic cuisine.

The best part about the fest was that everything was moderately priced and very hygienic too. One of the highlights was the live bands performing to keep the entertainment quotient high. It also proved to be a great business opportunity for the new eateries to promote themselves.

While all outlets had interesting food, Picanto (Mexican cuisine), Greens & Olives (Italian & Continental), Dilli Chaat and Cafe Arabia were observed to be the most popular
among the crowd.

Another stall that attracted the crowd with its uniqueness was ‘Stew Art’. It offered an array of stews from different parts of the world and the whole idea of a place dedicated to stews was unique.

Harjit Kaur, a homemaker and a travel enthusiast expressed,”I have travelled a lot across the western world and have relished stews. Somehow, my craving for stews was not satiated here. I am glad that I have finally found a place in Pune.”

The 2 day World Dhaba fest succeeded in fulfilling people’s expectations. The only thing that could have been better was the seating arrangement.

If you missed it this year, be sure to put it in on your bucket list for the next season.
