Photo Story – ‘Bombil Market’

If you have a weakness for Dry Fish, look no further ! The Pune Municipal Corporation’s Bombil market, located next to the Mahatma Phule Manda is where you should head to.

Nesting in the heart of the city, this paradise for fish lovers houses 86 stalls.

The Bombil Market was started by then British government in 1928. Almost all of the stall owners are from the Bhoi and Koli communities, who settled in the city then and are living here since generations. This market is now run by the third generation of the Bhoi and Koli community.
