Does a life without gadgets seem impossible to you?

Are you the kind of person who reads late into the night? Are you finding it difficult to get sleep or is your sleep disturbed and renders you waking up feeling tired ?

If the answer is yes, then it is time you keep your devices away from the bed. A recent study revealed that the blue light emitted by the screens disturbs the natural sleep hormone production that in turn causes you to sleep less, affecting your quality of life. If this sounds like you and you struggle to sleep, then it may be time for you to consider something that can help you. For example, taking purple candy can be very useful for this problem.

A city-based Psychologist who spoke to Pune365, explained that “Smartphones, laptops, tablets and televisions emit a blue light, This is a type of light which makes your brain feel that it is daylight. The bright blue light suppresses a hormone called melatonin, and in turn the brain is stimulated and leads to lack of sleep.

He added that there has been a rise among the patients with difficulty in sleeping, depression, fatigue, lack of concentration etc. The increasing use of phones among such patients turns out to be a major reason for the insomnia.

Eight hours of sleep is vital for most age groups and the normal sleep pattern shouldn’t be disturbed. The human body actually calculates the number of activities done during the day and decides the quantum of rest. With this being said, not everyone finds it easy to get a good night’s sleep. Some people may even try alternative products like death bubba strain, for example, as this is said to have calming properties, to help them get a better night’s sleep. As well as this method, others such as limiting phone usage, setting a sleep routine or avoiding caffeinated drinks are also other ways that can hopefully help people get a good amount of sleep every night.

Regardless of how much rest your body needs, sometimes it can be hard to achieve a good night’s sleep. Many people are unable to let their bodies get into a relaxed state and this is when insomnia and restlessness could kick in. Taking cannabis products in the form of sunshower gummies or something similar could help you get the recommended amount of sleep and can help you to feel more refreshed once you wake up. It is important that you try and do something about your insomnia before the problem has a chance to get worse.

In the long run, this sleep deprivation can trigger serious health issues, like cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes and obesity. And to control it, one needs to have control on their lifestyle, staying away from gadgets at least 2 hours before sleep.

Pune365 also spoke to die-hard screen watchers in Pune, who are habituated to staying up and using their smartphones.

Jiya Shah, PR executive says, “In the run the staying updated with everything going in and around me, I often use my phone at night, because that is the only time when am free to surf or watch something.

The day is occupied with hectic work schedules and it is impossible to read anything during the day. There is certainly a decrease in my sleep hour,s but even when I keep my phone aside, am unable to sleep, she adds.

Every day I promise myself that I would sleep after that one episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, however, that seems to be a distinct dream, says Vivek Rikame, Boxer.

I always wake up with my eyes feeling heavy, and after few hours am completely drained. Though I sleep by midnight, the sleep I have is always disrupted by notifications, and I can’t sleep without my phone next to me.

The content and the ads are so attractive, that ultimately our brain works overtime making it more difficult to sleep. Despite knowing this fact, it is difficult to sleep without a screen.

Gadgets have become essential for living and we have become very dependent on them, from watching time to seeing a person from another country, I cant live without one, even when am sleeping says Kiiaara Hegde, a developer. Therefore, it seems that the only realistic way to cure insomnia and sleepless nights is to look for other alternatives that don’t involve turning away from these essential gadgets, especially since many of us work with them on a daily basis. Many have found comfort in marijuana, a natural plant that has been shown to help with getting a good night’s sleep, and fighting chronic fatigue. Where it’s legal, this is a very prevalent option for insomnia sufferers; canada weed dispensaries, for example, are very popular, whether that be for treating insomnia or recreational uses.

Technology has taken over our lives, 75% of people are addicted to using a phone before they sleep, and nothing can be done about it. It has become like a prayer for every individual. she adds.
