Armless Man Stabs Another

You can stab a man even without having arms as a homeless man in the US did, says a report.

A 46-year-old homeless man with no arms was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, for stabbing another man with a pair of scissors using his feet, police said.

Florida native Jonathan Crenshaw stabbed a 22-year-old Chicago man twice with the scissors before running away, according to the Miami Beach Police Department report.

Crenshaw, a local fixture known for painting colourful works of art with his feet, according to local media reports, was subsequently detained near the attack in a shopping and tourist area near South Beach and charged with one count of aggravated battery, a second-degree felony, police said, says a Reuters report.

Crenshaw told police he acted in self-defence. The victim, Cesar Coronado, was admitted to a local hospital bleeding from his left arm, police said. He and a female friend who was present said Coronado asked Crenshaw for directions and was attacked, police said.

Crenshaw said he was lying down when Coronado approached and punched him, police added. Police said there were no indications that Crenshaw was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.

5-metre Crocodile Caught On Time

A huge crocodile was caught before it made its way to a populated area in Australia, says a report.

Authorities in Australia have caught the saltwater crocodile measuring almost 5 metres, one of the biggest on record, to stop it from reaching a populated area, the Department of Tourism said, according to a Reuters report.

Weighing up to 600 kg, the 60-year-old crocodile is the biggest ever removed from the Katherine River in the remote Northern Territory. It was moved to live out its days at a crocodile farm.

The largest crocodile ever captured in Australia measured 6.4 metres, according to records. It was caught and killed in 1974, also in the Northern Territory.

Carry Your Wife And Win

Carrying your wife is a good thing but you can win a competition in that category too, says a report.

Fifty-three men slung their wives or partners over their shoulders and hurtled off on an hour-long race in the small Finnish town of Sonkajarvi, as thousands of fans cheered from the stands, says a Reuters report.

The World Wife-Carrying Championship, now in its 23rd year, draws thousands of visitors to the town of 4,200 and has gained followers across the world.

There are official qualifying competitions in countries including the US, UK, Sweden and Estonia. A total of 53 couples from 13 countries joined the competition, organisers said.

The idea of wife-carrying as a sport was inspired by the 19th century legend of Ronkainen the Robber, who tested aspiring members of his gang by forcing them to carry sacks of grain or live pigs over a similar course.

The championship is also said to stem from an even earlier practice of wife-stealing – leading many present-day contestants to compete with someone else’s wife.

Man Falls Through Ceiling Twice

It is unbelievable yet true. A man fell through the ceiling of a New Hampshire supermarket, twice, says a report.

Authorities say officers were responding to the scene of a bank robbery in Dover when they heard a commotion at the nearby Shaw’s supermarket, according to an AP report.

Police say they found a 30-year-old man’s legs hanging above the store’s seafood and deli section. Officers cleared the store, and the man partially fell through the ceiling again above the store’s refrigerated meats.

Police eventually convinced the man to come down, and he was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, trespassing and resisting arrest. It is unclear how the man got into the ceiling.

Bulldog Dies After Winning ‘Ugliest’ Title

A nine-year-old English bulldog has died just weeks after winning the 2018 World’s Ugliest Dog contest, according to a report.

Owner Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minnesota, says that Zsa Zsa died in her sleep. Brainard says the dog was staying with her father and he found she had passed away when he got up in the morning, says an AP report.

Zsa Zsa — with her floppy tongue, crooked teeth and pink manicure — won the annual contest on June 23 at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in Petaluma, California.

Brainard says Zsa Zsa never really showed much excitement, but that she knew she was special.

Dogs in the annual competition flaunt their imperfections. The contestants included a blackhead-covered Chinese Crested-Dachshund mutt, a bulldog mix with excess wrinkly skin and a Pekingese named Wild Thang.
