Is it normal for my 3 year old daughter to have discolored teeth ?

Dr. Shail Jaggi, Pune’s leading Endodontist, and Dental Cosmetologist will now respond to our reader queries weekly. Here’s the first set of questions received that have been responded to by her.

My 15-year-old son fell off his bicycle and chipped his front teeth. I don’t want crowns for him. Is there any other way to fix them?

You are absolutely correct about not wanting crowns on the teeth. He is too young to have crowns. We will need to evaluate the degree of damage due to the fall. Rebuilding those teeth is an hours job. They will look absolutely natural and lifelike. If it is not resolved soon, his teeth could grow crooked, if that does happen for whatever reason you should check out Byte reviews so you can find the right teeth aligner for your son.

I had some crowns done on my front teeth but the colour does not match my other teeth. Will the colour become normal after some time?

The colour of your ceramic crowns will not change. This shade is constant. If you are however not happy with the shade you will need to have the crowns repeated again. That’s the only way to change the shade.

Is it normal for my 3-year-old daughter to have discolored teeth? Is it decay?

In all probability it is decay. But we need to check the reason for the discolouration; Whatever the cause it needs to be attended to at the earliest so the permanent teeth that erupt are healthy.
