He is one busybody. Even when he sits by the patio, his ears and nose are always on alert so he can jump away at the slightest whiff or the minutest sound thats away from the mundane.
Say hello to Simba, the handsome Labrador who rules the Chhabria home. Says Rishi of his favourite friend and companion, He is intelligent, smart, affectionate, and has given us all a lot of love. Almost as if on cue, Simba looks up at his master and wags his tail.
Simply Simba
From falling asleep in a wash basin while the entire household went bananas looking for him to giving the gardener more than enough to tend to and being the eternal loving welcome giver to the one who enjoys pillow fights with Rishi the most, Simba is a perfect live wire.
The Healer
There hasn’t been a day that he hasn’t made me smile enthuses Rishi, a mechanical engineer working at Bajaj Auto Ltd. Interestingly, Simba knows when he is being spoken about and always ensures that we know that he knows! “I was terribly down one day and though I was working on my laptop, my heart was elsewhere. Simba was at my feet. I dont know how he sensed it, he nuzzled me and barked, as if to say, enough! I pet him and instantly felt better, says Rishi. Simba can sense moods and does his best to lighten everything up.
The Routine
As the clock inches closer to 6 pm, every evening, Simba begins hovering around Rishi’s grandparents, for it is time for them to go to the society garden. For Simba, its time for his car ride. So, soon as the car door is opened, he hops in and occupies his window seat to go drop them! It has to happen everyday. And they don’t mind it at all! He thinks the Polo is his car so whenever that car is heading out, he does everything to get into it, smiles Rishi of Simba who loves being in the garden and going around for walks.
The Friends and Others
He has two doggy friends who stay opposite his house. His mortal enemies are the cats who waltz into his compound and run out when he chases them. All, except for one cat. She comes everyday and both are now used to each other so he only glares at her.
Among his friends is also Satpal bhaiyya, the watchman at the Chhabria residence. If I talk to Satpal, Simba will appear from wherever he is and jump straight onto Satpal. He just can’t help it, smiles Rishi.
And to demonstrate, Rishi talks to Satpal. Simba jumps up on him! And we are left in peals of laughter…
