MealTango hunts for Pune’s best chef

MealTango founders with some of the chefs participating in the contest

In order to scout for the best chef in Pune, MealTango is launching a city-wide talent search competition. The competition is open for all, because the founder and CEO of MealTango, Saket Khanna firmly believes that, “It isn’t only professional chefs who are the best at their trade. Passionate home chefs, home bakers, professional chefs and even cooking enthusiasts have the potential to be the best chef.” *

The competition needs no display of cooking. It is indeed quite simple where the participants have to register themselves and upload their photo and details to participate in the contest. Once the registration is done, the participants have to share their entry with people who have tried their food to vote for them. By the end of the contest, the chef with the maximum number of votes wins.

The winning chef will be felicitated by celebrity chef and MasterChef Australia guest judge, Christine Manfield. The ceremony will be held at Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai. The winner will also be awarded with prizes worth Rs 10,000 from Stahl Cookware, Weikfield and FoodThink. Prizes for first runners up and second runners up are also to be given, and upto 100 contestants will receive gifts from Weikfield.

The competition is already flagged off and interested ones can enrol until Friday, February 10. The voting ends on 11:59pm, Saturday, February 11. On February 13, the person with the maximum number of votes will be awarded the title of ‘Pune’s Best Chef’.

The contest is still up and running. Click here for more details.
