Mandarin & Mircchi exemplifies Pan-Asian and Indian fare

Tucked away in Ishanya Mall at Yerwada, Mandarin and Mircchi offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant that opened mid-August titivates your palate with Asian as well as Indian fare. Post the success of city-based Sassy Spoon, Sassy Teaspoon and Baraza Bars & Bites; The Chocolate Spoon Co. Pvt Ltd brings forth Mandarin & Mircchi focusing on Pan-Asian and Indian fare.

Enter the restaurant and you instantly catch sight of the intricate origami extensively used as a décor element. Beautiful origami lampshades illuminate the space while two origami murals festoon the walls. While the two cuisines are depicted by a beautiful peacock and a fiery dragon respectively; the ambience has a modish vibe.

Moving on to the food, the Sweet and Sour Chicken and Crispy Prawn Chueng Fun are instant hits. On the Indian side, you’ll love their Dal Makhani and Mutton Pepper Fry. But the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly their Rabadi Mousse. Feather light yet smooth on the tongue, the mousse was beautifully plated and is a must try even if you dislike desserts.

Chef Gautam Samel, the head chef for Pune adds, “The menu is specially crafted with recipes keeping in mind the best of the Asian cuisine, as well as a variety of the tastiest Indian food from across the country.

On the beverage front, resident Mixologist Pranav Mody brewed up the special Green Fizz mocktail. However, if you like cocktails then the M&M Mary, Gingerbread Man and Paan Banarasi Walla are a must have.

Rachel Goenka, CEO and Founder says, “An Indian and an Asian restaurant were both in the pipeline for us and then we decided to combine both the cuisines into one restaurant. Thus with Mandarin & Mircchi, the thought was to offer the finest dishes of two of the most popular cuisines from specially differentiated kitchens.
