Les Songes Voyageurs: A singular baroque concert

L’Alliance Française de Pune, in-association with The Poona Music Society, the Institut Français Inde, the French Embassy in India and Oman Air as airline partner, organises the baroque concert Les Songes Voyageurs: a new project lead by Thierry Grégoire, Nolwenn le Guern and Etienne Galletier.

Countertenor Thierry Grégoire gained his reputation at La Comédie Française with a promising voice of a rare and much sought after tessitura. He performed concerts around the world and more than 20 concerts all over India. In consequence of his musical globetrotting journey, he founded the ensemble Les Songes Voyageurs with two talented musicians, Nolwenn Le Guern playing the Viola de gamba, a 16thcentury bowed stringed instrument played at the English royal court, and Etienne Galletier, playing the Theorbo, a 16thcentury necked stringed instrument used as accompaniment of the singing. These two now unique instruments began to disappear in the beginning of the 18th century. Nolwenn le Guern has already brought Viola de gamba on the Indian stage for the first time in 2015 with a musical franco-indian creation called: “Leçons de Ténèbres et râga de la Nuit”.

For their Indian Tour, Les Songes Voyageurs will play a special program around the 17’s composer Henry Purcell and start their tour at the Udaipur World Music Festival.
