Artist: Parishruta Shelatkar
Age: 14 years
Medium: Colour pencils and paints
CURATED BY VCW ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS: Lavani is a Maharashtrian folk dance which requires full energy with a peculiar folk music that goes along with dance steps. Parishruta’s finest drawing with so much detail about everyone’s costumes including their body language, the background musicians sitting in front of the violet curtains with their instruments. The person sipping on his hookah with the lady dancing is the centre of attraction. The entire composition is indeed a great observation by the young artist and is recommended by VCW. Parishruta is now an architect.
