CURATED BY VCW ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS: This is one of her master artworks selected as the best entry from India for an international art contest in Slovenia in 2009. The theme was to depict folk dances from your country. She portrays dancing women from her home state, Kerala. It is a keen observation of traditional costume during Onam. The beautiful flower rangoli with a lamp in the centre shows the vastness of this Malabar tradition that she belongs to. Her acute observation made her the winner in the country. Shruthi is now studying medicine.
A unique art showcase featuring creative children from Pune curated by Pune’s very own artist couple Minoo and Sheil Sadwelkar of VCW fame (Established in 1969 in Mumbai, restructured in Pune in 1999). The VCW Academy Of Fine Arts is known for its passion to nurture young artistic talent in our city.
