Homes for all by 2022, a great opportunity for realtors

‘The Government’s objective of homes for all by the year 2022 will bring a huge business opportunity to the real estate development sector but government must take appropriate initiatives to facilitate reaching that goal’, said real estate developer and President (West) of National Real Estate Development Council, Niranjan Hiranandani. Addressing a seminar on “Re-monetisation & the way forward” hosted by the Marathi Bandhkam Vyavasayik Association, Mr Hiranandani said the other solutions for making homes affordable would include reduction in home loan interest rates, easing of risk weightage of real estate sector by banks and extending the repayment period of home loans to 30-35 years.
Hitesh Thakkar, secretary (West) NAREDCO, and Bank of Maharashtra chairman and CEO Ravindra Marathe were also present on the occasion.
Ravindra Marathe said that developers need to bring transparency in their dealings with the customers and financers and embrace professionalism to win the confidence of both.

A panel discussion on the fallout of demonetisation and the journey to a cashless society, also took place.
