The BJP has taken a big lead in the 162-seat Pune Municipal Corporation and was heading for a majority. It was leading in 77 seats out of 158 and was only five away from reaching the magic figure of 82. The NCP was trailing with leads in 43 seats, having won one. The Congress and the Shiv Sena were ahead in 16 and 10 seats respectively.
