Just like we love ice-cream, so do most dogs. And while giving them a big dose of sugar day in and out is not a good idea, here’s a list of our favourite and really easy to make treats for your dogs.
The good thing is that the proportion can vary acceding to availability and the taste of every dog. So for those who don’t like peanut butter there is an option.
For those who hate strawberries but love mangoes and apples there is an option.
The most important thing to remember is to wash the fruits properly and to de seed them thoroughly.
Get Fruity
Puree watermelon. Mix in some coconut water. Freeze and serve!
You can use strawberries, bananas or apples in place of the watermelon.
Peanut Butter Special
Mix some peanut butter with mashed banana. Add a dash of water. Pour into moulds, freeze and serve.
Grind strawberries with water and hall fill your moulds with the mix. Top up with a blob of peanut butter that should sink slightly into the mix and not float on top. Freeze and serve.
Yoghurt Fun
Fresh Mango chopped into small pieces, an ice tray and some yoghurt. Stir in the mango into the yoghurt.
Put the mix into the ice tray and freeze. You can add a bit of honey if you are inclined.
Mango can be replaced with apples, bananas, strawberries.
Happy Ice-Cream
Take half a cup of milk. Stir in a big teaspoon of honey. Add one big tablespoon of some biscuit crumble. Freeze and serve.
You can add any of the fruits that your dog loves to this.
For all recipes, in place of an ice-cream stick, you can put in dog biscuits.
