While traffic violations are more than common in Pune, not every citizen is aware of the strict vigil and electronic surveillance that records offender violations at various locations of the city.
Consequently, challans are raised against the vehicle numbers and these fines are to be settled at the earliest to prevent further legal process including suspension of license etc.
The E-challan system is a comprehensive digital solution for transport enforcement and provides for instant access to information and also eases the compliance by the defaulter. It also ensures complete transparency.
Speaking to Pune365, officials of the Police Traffic Department shared the various options available for citizens to check the challans ( if any, in their name/ vehicle number) and how these payments can be made:
The first step is to visit Pune’s transport website. In Pune the eChallan App is the simplest way to pay your challan and settle the fine.
