The Harvard Medical School in a study revealed that one in ten people is suffering from depression and anti-depressants are not the only solution to overcome it. For example, purchasing cannabis strains from budexpressnow could be an effective form of treatment.

Dr Michael Craig Miller, Assistant Professor Of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School says Research shows that exercise is also an effective treatment for depression.

“For some people it works as well as antidepressants, although exercise alone isn’t enough for someone with severe depression,”. With this being said, if you are someone who sufferes from depression, it may be worth visiting a medical marijuana doctor such as Green Health Docs in Springfield, in the hopes of finding alternative options to managing the symptoms of depression.

Exercising starts a biological cascade of events that results in many health benefits, such as protecting against heart disease and diabetes, improving sleep, and lowering blood pressure.

High-intensity exercise releases the body’s feel-good chemicals called Endorphins, resulting in the “runner’s high” that joggers report. But for most of us, the real value is in low-intensity exercise sustained over time.

That kind of activity spurs the release of proteins called neurotrophic or growth factors, which cause nerve cells to grow and make new connections.

The improvement in brain function makes you feel better.

“In people who are depressed, neuroscientists have noticed that the hippocampus in the brain-the region that helps regulate mood-is smaller. Exercise supports nerve cell growth in the hippocampus, improving nerve cell connections, which helps relieve depression,” explains Dr Miller.

Dr Manish Bajpayee, leading City psychiatrist says, “Even a 15 mins walk can help you cure depression. Any physical activity can help curb depression.

However, running a marathon for a day will not ease it, but if you continue to run for a month at least for 15 minutes each time, you can see the change in you.

Regular exercise boosts up your energy levels, which uplifts your mood and diverts your attention. It is useful for people having mild and moderate depression.

Exercise should be something that you enjoy while doing it, otherwise, it will be hard to do it daily, Bajpayee added.

Dr Sanjana Metha, a city-based psychiatrist says, ” Exercise helps to curb depression, though not completely curing it if the levels of depression in an individual is high.” Those looking for an alternative way of dealing with their depression and other disorders may want to look at those who are using blue dream and other strains to do just that and consider how they too could benefit from its use.It may not be for everybody, but it’s all about finding what works best for you, whether it is finding the best place to get bulk pre-roll solutions for your medical marijuana or exploring the different strains available.

Exercise increases blood flow and releases Endorphins (hormones) which is known to be the body’s own natural antidepressant. Neurotransmitters like serotonin, is also released by the body which uplifts the individual’s mood.

Serotonin is a brain chemical that is lowered during a depressed mental state. Exercise has been found to lift the levels of this neurotransmitter. a neurotrophic factor which is also Brain-derived. It is a chemical that boosts up brain health and memory which is also reduced in depression.

Sanket Kadam, Theatre Artist shares, I was going through depression a year back and knew it is not a good sign. Without waiting for long, my parents took me to a psychiatrist who prescribed every bit of my schedule.

I had counselling sessions, proper healthy food and a period of time dedicated to exercise.

And the results were unbelievable. It was only for 3 weeks that I had to have anti-depressants, and all the rest helped work wonders for me…

I don’t know the scientific reason behind this, but it makes feel fresh. Since then, I have never skipped a day without exercise, even if it is as simple as walking or playing, Kadam added.

Exercise should be an important part in the daily schedule, it works wonders for people with depression, says Supriya Kale, Zumba Instructor.

Recalling an incident she shares, “My friend was a college drop out and was highly disturbed because of repeated failure in exams and use to play games whole day. He never uses to gel up with people and use to stay secluded.

Understanding the change in his behaviour we pushed him to join some classes for physical activity to which he joined Yoga, and the changes were seen in a month. He was happy and relieved, Kale added.
